Trust

Learning to Trust God

Learning to Trust God. Trusting God is difficult. Why? I believe it is because it’s easier to trust the circumstances—which we see—versus trusting God—whom we do not see. Sometimes we can believe He does miracles far away and have a hard time believing He can do a miracle for us, no matter what that is. That is why the Bible tells us to not trust our own understanding. Instead, we are to seek God’s will and He will then direct our paths. Today, I would like to share a devotional from my book Devotions for Working Women that reminds us to trust God daily.

Trust in the Lord Daily
#328

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.

Life is a daily fight; therefore, we must trust the Lord with all our heart all our days. When we depend on Him for everything we do, we are putting our trust in the hands of the Master, the Creator of the universe, our God the Father. Only when we trust Him we realize His wonderful plan for our lives. In fact, when He places His perfect will in our hearts, it becomes easy to follow every step He puts in front of us.

In the workplace, trust God that you are in the right place and that you are there for a purpose. If you find yourself in a difficult situation at work, trust God to direct your path on a daily basis. Just think how much Jesus trusted God while He went through the process of the cross!

God Can Give You More Grace

God Can Give You More Grace. We often may feel that things we were able to do before now have become a burden. Why? The reason is because the grace has lifted. When there is no grace, the supernatural help from God is gone and all that is left are our human capabilities which are limited. If you are experiencing a situation right now where you feel you have no grace left to continue, don’t get discouraged. God is there and can give you additional grace to go on. All you have to do is ask. That is what I have done regarding a situation I am going through right now with my relatives. I trust God that He will help me. Today, I want to share this devotional from my book, Devotions for Working Women that encourages us to give our burdens to God.

Give Your Burdens to the Lord
# 302
Psalm 55:22 (NLT)

Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

How often do you feel burdened to the point of giving up? Most of us feel the burdens of life to be overwhelming at some point during our lives. The Bible tells us to give our burdens to the Lord for He will help us carry them. He cares for us and is always willing to carry us through every situation.

Anything can become a burden when there is no grace. But through His grace we are able to handle the trials of life and overcome difficult situations. Giving our burdens to God means we trust Him fully. It means we know He loves us and He will never abandon us.

Your work should not be or become a burden to you. If it is a burden right now, ask God what His will for you is, what your next step should be, and to help you carry your burdens. He will not let you fall. Remember, with Jesus, the yoke is easy and the burden is light (Matthew 11:30 KJV).

Don't Worry About Tomorrow

Today is a new day and I encourage you to thank God for everything He has done for you and don’t worry about tomorrow. He is in control and He will guide each one of your steps if you let Him. Today’s devotional reminds us that God gives us grace for each day.

Don’t Worry about Tomorrow
301
Matthew 6:34 (Weymouth)

Do not be anxious, therefore, about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own anxieties. Enough for each day is its own trouble.

Do you worry about tomorrow? Do you worry about losing your job? Did you know that worry is the opposite of faith? Fear and worry rob us of God’s peace and rest. In His Word, God tells us to not worry. In fact, He commands us not to worry. Why? Because worry shows lack of faith and trust in Him. When we worry, we are telling God that what He says in His Word doesn’t work, so we are coming up with a better solution ourselves.

Did you know that God has feelings? God, as a Father, gave up His only Son and sacrificed Him so we may have life. By worrying, we are saying that what Jesus did was not worth it to us and that hurts God. Yet He doesn’t keep track of hurts, and He forgives us on a daily basis.

God gives us grace for one day at a time. Each day has its troubles—sometimes big and other times small—either way, we must confront and resolve each one.

Therefore, don’t worry about the tomorrow. Give it to the Lord. Work hard today and know that He is in charge and in control of your life.

Trust the Lord with your Heart's Desires

Trust the Lord with your Heart's Desires. Today I want to encourage you to trust the Lord with everything you have going on in your life. When we give Him the opportunity to act and help us He does. I would like to share this devotional that reminds us that God will give us the desires of our hearts when we trust Him.

God Gives us the Desires of Our Hearts
# 303

Psalm 37:4-5 (NLT)

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.

God places desires in our hearts. When we delight in Him (take time to be with Him, spend time in His presence, and fellowship with Him), He will give us those desires. When we commit ourselves to do everything unto the Lord, He will help us achieve our goals. In other words, when we spend time with Him, we give Him an opportunity to change us, to exchange old desires with new ones. Therefore, when we desire what He put in our hearts, He will help us achieve those desires because He put them there in the first place.

Are you spending enough time with the Lord to give Him the opportunity to place those desires in your heart? What kind of job do you desire to have? Are you in the industry you desire to be?

Confidence - Why are you so afraid?

Confidence - Why are you so afraid? Today I want to share with you a devotional that reminds us to trust God in all circumstances—no matter what they are. It asks some key questions we cannot forget when we are in the midst of the storms in our lives and are experiencing difficult situations. Read this devotional and reflect on it today.

Have Complete Confidence and Faith in Jesus
#310
Mark 4:40 (NLT)

And he asked them, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still not have faith in me?”

Jesus and His disciples were in their boat crossing a lake when a fierce storm arose. The disciples were afraid they were going to drown and went to wake up Jesus who they found peacefully sleeping in the back of the boat. Then Jesus asked His disciples the question above. It is insulting to Jesus when we have Him in our hearts, yet don’t have faith in Him to deliver us from the storms.

When we accept Jesus into our hearts as our Lord and Savior, we are telling Him we believe in His ability to save us from everything—including going to hell. How can we believe He saved us from eternal damnation in hell, but we don’t have enough faith to believe He can get us through the storms in our lives?

When Jesus was inside the boat with His disciples and a storm developed all around them, He was sleeping in peace. How could He do that? Simply because He had complete confidence in His Father, and He knew that no matter what was going on in the world around Him, the Father would take care of Him. This is a revelation we must appropriate in our hearts.

If you accepted Jesus, then He is in you now and all that He is and represents is inside of you, in your spirit. Having Him in your life means you have His power, His anointing, peace, love, joy, and everything else God wants you to have to be successful in Him.

Meditate on this today and know that Jesus is in you. Have complete faith, trust, and confidence in Him. Know that no matter what you are going through in your life, Jesus is in control, and He will deliver you.

Don't Give Up!

Don't Give Up! In these economic times we all have been touched one way or another and some of our friends and family members have lost their jobs. Those of us who are still employed must help our friends so they can get back in the workforce. There are several ways we can help. For example, we can help them with their resumes to ensure they look professional and list all their experience correctly. We can meet with them to encourage them to continue (or start) the employment search. We can offer our names to be used as personal reference. This is extremely important and your friends will appreciate it. But the most important thing we can do is to connect them with other people that can potentially help them. Today, I want to end with a devotional from my book that will give encouragement to those who are looking for employment.

The Creator of All Cares about You
# 318
Psalm 89:11 (NLT)

The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours; everything in the world is yours—you created it all.

The world is an uncertain place where change takes place on a daily, moment by moment, basis. On the other hand, God, our Father, never changes and He cares for each one of us and our everyday life.

If you recently lost your job or are going to be laid off, don’t panic. The Creator of all is in control of your life. If He is powerful enough to create the heavens and the earth, He can certainly give you a new job. It’s not easy to go through the experience, but with Christ you can take this opportunity to grow and get closer to Him. With His help you can overcome and have the victory on this situation.

Ask God to give you wisdom, direct you to apply to the right jobs, in the right fields, and to connect you with the right people. Your part is to look for a job, work your network, and get out there. Leave the rest to God. Remember, the Creator of the universe is with you and cares about you. He will never leave you or forsake you. Don’t give up!

How Do You Respond to Bad News?

How Do You Respond to Bad News? Today I heard a relative of my husband’s was sent home to be in hospice because there is nothing else the doctors can do for him. What do we do when we get these kinds of news? We all hope for a miracle. But what if the miracle does not manifest in our lives? It does not matter what kind of bad news we receive, we must have complete confidence and faith in Jesus. He is the only One who knows why things happen.

Today I want to encourage you to believe in Jesus no matter what you are going through in your life. The devotional I have for today talks about having complete confidence and faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. Let's not lose our confidence and trust in Him.
